1999-2006 1500
In 1999 GM redesigned their 1/2
trucks. Now both 2WD and 4WD trucks use the same 6/5.5 bolt
pattern. All '99 to '04 trucks must use 16" or larger wheels.
GM introduced rack and pinion steering on the 2WD trucks which require a
hub centric wheel. Hub centric means that the center of the wheel
must be the same size as the hub on the truck. In other words the
wheel on the 2WD models centers on the hub instead of the lugs as past
trucks had. This means that only 6 lug wheels made specifically
for the GM hub will work properly on the 1999-Up 2WD 1500.
Although large bore 6 lug wheels will fit on the truck, a bad vibration
is experienced at higher speeds. Most wheel manufacturers have
built wheels with the proper 78.3 mm hub bore. 4WD models can use
both large bore (108 mm) or hub centric (78.3 mm) wheels. Tahoe
and Suburban have the same characteristics as the 1500 beginning with
2000 year models. Beginning in 2005 17" wheels are required to
compensate for bigger brakes. Below is a chart with recommendations for tire fitments based on wheel
size.

These trucks have the same fitment characteristics and bolt pattern as
'99-newer trucks.
1971-1998 1500 2WD
These year model 2WD trucks have a 5/5 bolt pattern.

4WD S10
The 4x4 S10 has the same 5/4.75 bolt pattern as the

factory tire sizes will fit properly. Any other offset or larger
tires require body modifications.
