American Racing wheels are
available in several finishes including fully
polished, painted, and chrome plated. Fully
polished wheels are the bare aluminum that has been
machine buffed and smoothed to a bright shine.
Polished wheels have no protective coating and are
subject to oxidization. Regular polishing is
required on polished aluminum wheels to maintain
them. The finish of polished wheels is not covered
under warranty. Polished wheels are not recommended
for winter use in climates where salt is regularly
used. Chrome plated aluminum wheels
have the most brilliant shine of any wheels
available and are easy to maintain. Just
regularly wash with soap and water and they look
like new. Chrome plated
wheels have a one year warranty on the finish. Painted or clear
coated wheels also require regular washing with soap
and water and have a one year warranty on their
finish. The key to successful wheel maintenance is
regular washing. We do not recommend store bought
wheel cleaners. Use mild soap and water. Do not
allow salt from winter roads to remain on wheels.
Today's
American Racing wheels
are direct bolt and have conical lug seats. Only
acorn style lugs are to be used. Shank lugs or ball
seat type lugs will not securely fashion our
wheels. Each wheel box contains care maintenance
and installation instructions and must be adhered
to. Only qualified installers should install
American Racing products.
