Q: This shows as a two piece wheel. Is the outer barrel cast or billet?

Q: I under stand back space but don’t know what off- set means. Will this wheel clear a disc brake caliper on a 1971 Chevelle? Also can you tell me the dimension form the axel flange face to the extreme outer bead? I want to make sure it will clear my outer wheel well flange.

A: The center is cast the barrel is forged.

They do clear standard disc brakes. Offset and backspace tell you the same thing... where the wheel touches the hub in relation to the overall width of the wheel. Here is a definition of offset and backspace.

Offset: Is the distance between the mounting surface of the wheel (point the wheel contacts the hub) and the center line of the wheel.

Backspace (Backside Setting): The distance from the mounting surface to the back flange of the wheel.

This 17x8 wheel with 4.03" backspace will go outward from the point the wheel touches the hub 4.97".
