Q: Hi, What is the difference between Polished and Chrome? Thanks, Gordy

Q: I have a 66 El Camino, it is stock. I am old school and was thinking that a little wider tire in the rear would be the look I wanted. When I saw it on your site it said for 68 El Camino up. I believe that package was 15x7 front and 15x8 rear. When I put in for 66 El Camino it is saying only 15x7 front and rear. Why can’t this work. Will it rub? Also what size tires is it supposed to have and what is the largest in 15” I could run. Thanks, I’m waiting on your answer to order.

Q: Will these fit a 1971 El Camino? I do not see the 15 x7's listed on the American Racing website under 1971 El Camino. They do show the 16 and 17" versions. Is this possibly due to backspacing?

Q: Torq Thrust II 15x7 5x4.75 Wheel and Tire Package Set of Four: I'm interested in a package that includes these wheels & tires but I don't understand or have tools to measure offset or backspace. They will be going on a 68 Camaro base model with disc brakes up front & standard drum brakes on the rear. If you can give me some guidance it would be appreciated. Also, I'm not 100% sure this is the size (15 x 7) that I will be ordering so if you can, make your guidance cover wheels that are 15" or maybe larger. Thank you.

Polished is just the bare aluminum polished to a bright shine. There is no protective covering. The Chrome Torq Thrust is the same aluminum wheel that has been chrome plated. Polished wheels do not have a warranty on the finish. Chrome wheels have a one year warranty. Polished wheels will need to be polished with aluminum polish from time to time to keep their shine. Chrome wheels are just cleaned with soap and water.

Unfortunately there just isn't enough room on the '64-'67 El Camino to put the wider 8" wheel on the rear unless you modify the rear or have custom wheels built with 5.0" backspace for the rear. You can run a 235/60R15 on a 15x8 if it has a 5.0" backspace. Otherwise don't go larger than 15x7 and 215/65R15.

Yes with standard disc brakes. They won't fit a big brake kit that requires larger wheels.

This part number is designed for your 1968 Camaro and has the correct offset. Use a 215/65R15 or 235/60R15 tire for the 15x7 Torq Thrust on your Camaro.
